Not for Fame Or Glory, Just for the Sake of It

I imagine that Vivian Maier found a way to make her life more meaningful and pleasurable by doing something that made sense to her. I would like to believe that she did not get frustrated by her incredible artistic eye. Is it possible? In our day and age when everyone can open a Flicker account and post their view point for the world to see it's hard to imagine this richness and depth of vision hidden for decades and never shared. Was she ashamed? maybe she thought it was an obsession?
Whatever it was that kept her photographs, these poignant poetic and exquisite observations hidden, we must be grateful they did not end up in the dump.
